How often should you detox?

Detoxing is like hitting a reset button. It helps to rid your body of toxins and leaves you feeling great physically, mentally and emotionally. If you’re like most people though, finding the time to detox is the biggest challenge. But the benefits of regular detoxing far outweigh the challenges.

Detoxing helps to:

  • Burn fat
  • Reduce the risk of disease
  • Improve mental clarity
  • Eliminate parasites
  • Rebuild glands
  • Detoxify organs
  • Repair digestive system
  • Reset you taste buds
  • Break addictions
  • Clear emotions
  • Create new good habits

  • Re-energise the mind and body.

That’s why I aim for 3-4 mini detoxes per year. For two days, I focus on clean nutritional food, ideally in liquid form like soups, smoothies and broths. This gives my digestive system a well-deserved rest. I try to eliminate as many toxins as possible from my diet over the two days, so I avoid processed foods and coffee, which is very hard for me, but worth it. I also have a colonic and go to a sauna. I avoid any strenuous training and work so that I can focus on resting and relaxing my mind, body and soul. I meditate, spend quiet time at the beach.

Remember you don’t need to be overweight, unfit or unhealthy; anyone can benefit from a detox once in a while. You may experience some detoxification symptoms like headaches, diarrhoea and emotional feelings, but they will pass, and you’ll be left feeling energised and refreshed.

Try a mini detox, even if it’s just for one day. I promise you it’s worth it.
